This years theme is WONDERLAND!

Just shortly after I posted this I received a bit of sad reality that even though Kyan!me returns this weekend, it seems like it is going to be the last, after being running for the past 4 years straight.

KYAN!ME ENDS WITH COMPETITIONS AND ACTIVITIES GALORE!

14August 2013, Kuching – KYAN!ME Convention 2013 will be the last KYAN!ME Convention after four years of bringing Japanese anime, games and cultures to the Kuching public. The event which features a wide array of competitions, workshops and even a mini concert, has seen guests flown in from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Singapore and even, Japan, For its final year, KYAN!ME Convention 2013 will be collaborating with its venue sponsors Plaza Merdeka where the event will be held at the mall from 16th to 18th August 2013. The event will see the return of its key highlights, namely the Cosplay Solo Competition and Cosplay Skit Competition which offers lucrative cash prizes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winner. The competition will see participants portray their favorite characters from the anime, comic and games genre in the most accurate costume and personality. Further placing itself in the forefront of the cosplay culture in Kuching, KYAN!ME Convention 2013 will see special guests Tessie and Sabrina flown in from Singapore to conduct special workshops on cosplay. The workshops will include Cosplay 101, Make Up Demonstration, Posing Workshop and a Prop and Costume Workshop. With their extensive experience as cosplayers, this is a golden opportunity for all Cosplayers to expand their horizon.

Special Cosplay Guest for Kyan!me

Past year’s crowd favorite activities will also return to excite the event goers, These include Anime Dai Fan, KYAN!ME Race and Kid’s Coloring Contest. Gaming and hobby enthusiasts will be entertained by the line up of exciting side activities including DOTA 2 Tournament organized by Gizmo Gamers, the official partner for KYAN!ME Convention, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Super Street Fighter 4 PS3 Tournament, conduct by Kuching fighting games community sponsored by Sony, Tamiya Racing by Tamiya mini 4wd Kuching, Pokemon Tournament, Vanguard Cardfight Workshop & Tournament by Neko Neko Nyaa and Dolly Carnet’s Basic Doll Face Up Workshop by Dolly Carnet . KYAN!ME Mini Concert will be returning on the Saturday to celebrate Kuching’s local talents. The performers were selected based on the top 3 winners from pre event JKpop Competition 2013 held earlier and will include the winner of the JKpop Competition 2013 for the respective categories, namely Angelyn Lim for the Solo Singing Category, Dreamer District for the Band Category and the ultra talented Trendz, winner for the Dance Category. They will be joined by past winners from Kyanime Audition from the previous years.
